Dawnut goes to school!

Started my clay craft course this week and went for my first lesson on Tuesday. For the first part of the curriculum, I have to complete a variety of 10 projects. The first project was to decorate a mirror using soft clay. From the frame to the embellishments, though not many items, it actually took me 2hours to complete. The roses were definitely easier to mould compared to the gardenia that I did during the intro class. From this simple assignment, I learnt quite a few techniques and tips which I wouldn't have known if I just relied on the instructional dvd that I got off the net. Learning the clay craft will give me more options to play with when creating new works :) Looking forward to classes next wk! Check out all my works here.

Mission: Edmund & Celine

My really good friend Edmund is getting married at the end of the year and coincidently it is on my bday! The couple will be having their pre-wedding photoshoot done later this month and so I offered to lend them some of my knick knacks to make the shoot more fun :) From umbrella to lunar calendar etc, he went back with a big bag of stuff to discuss with Celine hehe.

While I was rummaging through my room for stuff, Ed was going through my cds and song compilations to find suitable songs he could use for the wedding video etc. Yup, he is planning to put together the video on his own. Waiting to see the first cut! Once the shoot and video are done, we will start discussing on the ideas for the wedding day. Can't wait! =))

Dawnut goes to class!

Some weeks ago, was browsing the net and I wasn't sure how I ended up at the DECO Clay Craft Academy's website. But after looking at the amazing stuff that they have done with clay, I very much wanted to learn. So I browsed the site and found out that there are three qualified instructors in Singapore. After looking at their works on their individual websites, I decided to drop a note to one of the instructors Nora.

And so, with a few of my girl friends in tow, we went to an introductory clay craft making class yesterday. It was an interesting experience kneading dough and turning little dough balls into petals. Though our workmanship is not that fine, at least the flowers look like flowers! Really amazed when the teacher at the swipe of her thumb created such thin flower petals that looked so life like. I aspire to reach there some day :) In the mean time more hardwork!
