One day in 2008, a friend asked if I could help her dress up 2 glass jars which would be used as 'Ang Bao' (Red Packet) jars for her wedding. She wanted something different from the conventional boxes so she bought the jars but didn't know what to do with them. I felt it was an interesting challenge to transform the jars into something unique. So without hesitation, I agreed.
Her wedding theme was "Garden Fairies & Toy Soldiers". So I started thinking of how I could decorate the jar to bring out the theme. Then a 'lightbulb' moment struck me, maybe I could dress them up as a miniature of the bride and groom. Shared my idea with close friends and family, and they felt it could come out quite interesting because they have not heard of or seen anything like what I described. And so, the first pair of customised wedding jars came out from Dawnut's Factory. That started it all......
